Last night it was a good friend of mine's birthday in Downtown LA at a place called Peace Yoga. My intent for going was to give him a big hug, hang for a little bit and cruise home. The moment we arrived (my beloved goddess and I) walked downstairs and low and behold there was Rehmannia (Dean Thomas) the Taoist Tonic Herbalist from the Shaman Shack. I have seen Dean a few other times at some events in So Cal but had never really sat with him or officially met him. He is a really great guy! He's cool, calm, collected, intuitive, genuine and borderline masterful as it relates to Taoist Tonic Herbalism. I am so thankful to have finally connected for real. He gives sessions at his location in Los Angeles. It's called Shaman Shack. Pretty sweet name! He had all of his herbs spread out and I was blessed to get a consult with him. I got his book "Healing Thresholds" and a fat bag of Chinese Tonic Herbs specifically combined for my body-mind-spirit and what I am working on - which is strengthening my 'Jing' and 'Chi' energy, my bones, tendons and ligaments, building strong blood, and supporting and nourishing my kidneys. ![]() My Beloved and Rhemannia I am so excited to dive into his book, and brew these amazing tonic herbs. Tonic herbs by the way are herbs that can be taken consistently for long periods of time without any adverse affects. Just to name a few of the herbs he put into my formula there was Schizandra Berry, Ho Sho Wu, Agaricus, Astragalus, Dang Gui, Eucomnia, Epimedium, Prepared Rehmannia, Reishi, Peony, Licorice, and Longan Berry. That's pretty much the whole list. And ALL of these herbs are going to assist me with my goals that I mentioned above. Seeing Rehmannia there last night was totally synchronisitc and obviously a result of my conscious use of the Law of Attraction. I am so thankful that it happened. I can't wait to go visit him at the Shaman Shack and continue learning more about Taoist Tonic Herbalism. If you ever get a chance to sit with him - DO IT! And go to his site and get some of his products, because they are top quality: www.shamanshack.info 4 Comments Rooibos is one of my favorite "Feel Good" teas. There are so many uses, especially when using the Rooibos Tea Extract! You can make ice cold tea in the day and sip on a hot cup at bight before bed. Rooibos is characteristic of an adaptogenic herb as it can give you ENERGY when enjoyed with exercise and with ice...and will help you to calm down and relax when you drink it at night in hot water. Centuries ago, the nomadic Khoi and San people harvested the fragrant "Red Bush", crushing the leaves with their primitive tools and leaving them in heaps to ferment before drying them in the sun. Today, plants are cultivated rather than collected in the wild. Rooibos is a leguminous plant bearing seed. Each legume bears just one seed which pops open and shoots out as soon as it is ripe. No fungicides, herbicides or chemicals are used during the growing process. Following fermentation, Rooibos is spread thinly over large drying yards to dry in the hot African sun, after which it is sucked up by special vacuum machines. In order to make rooibos tea extract the leaves are fermented in the sun and left to dry in a very organized process. Rooibos tastes great, you can have as much as you want, it's great for all ages and it keeps you Young and Beautiful and full of energy!
